Callie - Border Collie Mix - 19 Months Young - 23kg - Allergy Dog
You'd think that with owning a border collie mix, my life would revolve around training her. Mental stimulation is, after all, much more efficient at tiring out a dog than any sort of physical exercise.
While yes, my life does revolve around Callie, I mostly met her physical needs - yes, plenty of running, lots of parks, lots of play. I actually forgot how much fun it is to work her mentally : trick training, clicker training for general obedience, getting her out and working the yearlings (cattle for those of you who don't know).
This morning, instead of our usual game of fetch I took her out to work on some of the tricks we had practiced at Obedience last night. I swear she has been more relaxed today than any other day. After 20 minutes of training, she was panting!
I think as of late I have just been so focused on her heath and trying to figure out what she is allergic to and making things more comfortable for her that I actually neglected her brain, (does that sound as weird as it felt to type?).
